Common questions
How do I get started? Install CatalogShoot from the Shopify App Store. Once installed, open any product in your Shopify admin — you’ll find the CatalogShoot block directly on the product page. Select a model and generate your first try-on photo.
Which product types work best? CatalogShoot is built for apparel: tops, shirts, dresses, outerwear, knitwear, bottoms, and activewear. Products that are worn on the body get the best results.
How do shoppers try on my products? Turn Try-On on for a product, then add the button to your theme in the Shopify theme editor — two ways, use either or both: an inline button (the Try It On block, dropped wherever you like on the product page) or a floating button (an app embed that rides a corner of every enabled product page). Shoppers tap it, upload a selfie, and see your garment on themselves. See the walkthrough →
Can I upload my own model, or does CatalogShoot generate one? Both. Generate a custom AI model in Model Studio — choose body type, look, and more — or upload a reference photo to use as the model. Save it once in the Model Library and reuse the same model (and the same face) across your whole catalog. See the walkthrough →
How do I get different poses or angles? Each model carries a pose pack — front, side, three-quarter, and more — so every product gets the same consistent set of angles. Pick the pose when you generate. See the walkthrough →
What is “face locking”? Because CatalogShoot uses a garment-transfer approach, the model’s face and body stay perfectly consistent between generates. Save a model once and reuse it across 100 products — the same face every time.
How do I generate for multiple products at once? Select products in your Shopify product list, click the CatalogShoot bulk action, choose a model, and generate. Results are added directly to each product’s Shopify gallery.
What happens when I activate a photo? The generated try-on photo is pushed directly to your Shopify product gallery. Your original product photo is preserved — the AI photo is added alongside it.
What if I don’t like a generated photo? Just generate another one. Nothing is pushed to Shopify without your approval — you review each result first.
